University of Sheffield - Check if grass is always greener

Grasses from across the world are to be documented in a project led by scientists from the University of Sheffield in collaboration with the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. The project, funded by the Joint Information Systems Committee, will see Sheffield experts produce an online resource called GrassPortal, offering public access to evolutionary and ecological data on the world's grass species. The portal will allow 11,000 species of grass to be searched for according to geographical range, climate preferences and evolutionary relationships to other species.
