University of Salford - Open-access new year

十月 29, 2009

It is to become mandatory for researchers at the University of Salford to deposit their research in the institution's open-access repository. The decision was announced last week to coincide with the first international Open Access Week. It makes Salford the 100th university or research funder worldwide to introduce an "open-access mandate", joining the likes of University College London and Harvard University in the US. Under the mandate, Salford's researchers will be required to deposit their papers in the institutional repository, beginning from January next year.
