六月 25, 2009

A new £17 million building at the University of Reading named after British physicist Harold Horace Hopkins has been formally opened by his son, Kelvin Hopkins MP. The building will house the university's new facilities for biomedical and pharmaceutical sciences, as well as the new Institute for Cardiovascular and Metabolic Research. The institute will work to understand the development of cardiovascular diseases, and the underlying obesity-related metabolic diseases from which they develop. Professor Hopkins was professor of applied physical optics at Reading from 1967 to 1984.
