University of Exeter - Scientific endeavour

十月 29, 2009

Thirty scientists, six of them professors, are being appointed to new academic posts at the University of Exeter. The positions are funded through the institution's £80 million investment in science strategy. Twenty-three of the scientists have already been appointed, and Exeter hopes to recruit the remainder during this academic year. This is the first phase of recruitment: the university aims to increase staffing levels from 650 to nearly 1,000 by 2015. The initial posts are in five areas: climate change and sustainable futures; extrasolar planets; functional materials; systems biology and translational medicine; and personalised healthcare and public health.
