University of Exeter - Keep fit to cut cravings

It takes just 15 minutes of exercise to reduce cravings for food or drugs, according to researchers from the School of Sport and Health Sciences at the University of Exeter. Exercise has already been shown to reduce dependence on nicotine and other drugs, but a paper in the journal Appetite shows that the same may be true for food. Lead author Adrian Taylor said: "This could be good news for people who struggle to manage their cravings for sugary snacks and want to lose weight." Previous research has suggested that 97 per cent of women and 68 per cent of men experience food cravings, most commonly for chocolate.
