University of Exeter - An extra dimension

三月 25, 2010

After the successes of 3D films such as Avatar and Alice in Wonderland, the next sensation promises to be 3D lectures. From this month, students at the University of Exeter's School of Engineering, Mathematics and Physical Sciences will enjoy the delights of a state-of-the-art 3D lecture theatre. The room is also equipped with software to allow them to create their own 3D images. Richard Everson, associate professor of computing, said: "It will be useful in the field of medical imaging. It will also be a great tool for our engineers, mathematicians and scientists, who will use it for applications as diverse as climate-change modelling, vegetation mapping and advanced computational fluid dynamics."
