University of Cambridge - Southern exposure for Inuit art

Two Inuit artists have been invited to take up residency in a university city to celebrate an exhibition drawing together artwork from across the movement. The Inuit Art Masterworks from the Arctic exhibition at the University of Cambridge's Scott Polar Research Institute is the result of a two-year £200,000 Heritage Lottery grant that allowed the acquisition of art showcasing styles from across the Canadian Arctic and Greenland. Printmaker Andrew Qappik and sculptor Jaco Ishulutaq, two internationally renowned artists from Nunavut, Canada, will work at the St Barnabas Press and Gallery in Cambridge as part of their residencies.
