Parents of twins, triplets and larger groups of multiple-birth babies face significant financial hardship, according to a study by researchers at the University of Birmingham. A report titled The Effects of Twins and Multiple Births on Families and Their Living Standards, which is supported by the Twins and Multiple Births Association, found that such families were twice as likely as those with single babies to report financial stress. The report includes analysis of the annual Family Resources Survey (2004-07), the government's key source of statistics on familial incomes.
