University of Birmingham - Nano effects on health examined

Funding of £500,000 has been secured by the University of Birmingham for a new faculty of environmental nanoparticle analysis and characterisation. The department will examine whether nanoparticles have significant adverse effects on human and environmental health. There is little European Union legislation governing nanotechnology, a growing industry attracting billions of pounds in global research spending.
