PhD scholarships have been announced as part of the University of Birmingham's moves to expand links with China. It has set up 18 scholarships for Chinese nationals to study in Birmingham and has established an office in Beijing, its second in the country. David Eastwood, Birmingham's vice-chancellor, said the office would "provide services to those students who wish to come and study with us in the UK".
