They're making it up

Over three days next month, more than 200 musicians, dancers and other artists will perform across two sites to celebrate the union of Trinity College of Music and Laban, a centre for movement and dance founded in 1948.

The events of In the Moment, a three-day festival exploring the breadth of improvisation in dance, music and theatrical productions, will be staged at Laban's award-winning building in Deptford and at Christopher Wren's baroque Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich.

Featured guest artists will include Uri Caine, an acclaimed jazz pianist and composer for the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, and the experimental dancer, choreographer and educator Eva Karczag. They will be joined by a host of renowned musicians, visual and dance artists, and students from Trinity Laban. The festival, which runs from 17 to 19 February, is the first major collaboration between Trinity College of Music and Laban.
