A grant of £40,000 has been awarded to The Robert Gordon University to help create new nursing training programmes in mental health. The funding from NHS Grampian Mental Health Services will enable lecturers to draw up a programme to enhance students' learning in clinical practice, promote "professional socialisation" and ensure that patients have a chance to engage with nursing students. Debbie Banks, programme leader, said that patients would also benefit from the new approach, as they would be exposed to fewer student nurses.
