No Scottish students enrolled at the University of Warwick this year, following the abolition of tuition fees in Scotland. The university saw fewer part-time and mature students enrol, but recorded an increase in independently educated students.
Warwick student union president Caitlin McKenzie said that Scottish students were motivated by cost in their choice of university. Owain James, president of the National Union of Students and a former University of Warwick student, said: "This is one more piece of evidence proving that far from improving access, this government's record has been to increase elitism."
