"All-Steinway Schools" such as Yale University's School of Music and the Juilliard School in New York are being joined by the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, the first UK conservatoire to gain the designation. The deal with Steinway & Sons will provide the college with 62 pianos, including 19 grands and one concert grand. Richard McMahon, the college's head of keyboard, said: "This partnership means that we can guarantee our provision for the next ten years. Steinway & Sons UK is also funding an annual £2,500 scholarship for a keyboard player.
