Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama - Grand deal for keyboards

十月 30, 2008

"All-Steinway Schools" such as Yale University's School of Music and the Juilliard School in New York are being joined by the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, the first UK conservatoire to gain the designation. The deal with Steinway & Sons will provide the college with 62 pianos, including 19 grands and one concert grand. Richard McMahon, the college's head of keyboard, said: "This partnership means that we can guarantee our provision for the next ten years. We're now looking forward to visiting Hamburg to select the instruments and to planning the major logistics exercise of transporting and installing so many instruments!" Steinway & Sons UK is also funding an annual £2,500 scholarship for a keyboard player.
