Royal Northern College of Music - Another string to their bows

五月 7, 2009

Military musicians are to benefit from a new postgraduate diploma in instrumental teaching that has been developed by the Royal Northern College of Music. The two-year course is to be offered at the college's new graduate school, and the first intake of 20 students is due to start in September. Developed with assistance from Armed Forces bands, it will aim to prepare military musicians for a second career as specialist instrumental teachers and will be delivered alongside students' final two years of military service. Lieutenant-Colonel Graham Jones, senior director of music in the Guards Division, said the course would help military musicians with the potential to be inspirational teachers both within the military and in mainstream education.
