Quality controls

The University of Bradford has not been found wanting in the recent QAA report ("Unis fail to ensure degree quality", THES, August ). On the contrary, our recent continuation audit states that Bradford is "exercising adequate stewardship over its academic quality and standards". We are one of the few universities to have received this accolade. In an earlier comment, the QAA drew attention to difficulties over one aspect of our procedures, the visibility of external perspectives. By omitting critical wording in this conclusion, and then generalising to the institution as a whole, you give a misleading impression. Bradford has not been complacent about the details in the report. We have recognised that some of the issues raised required attention and have worked at them.
