David Finkelstein has won the the second annual Robert Colby Memorial Book Prize. Professor Finkelstein, Queen Margaret University research professor of media and print culture, won the $3,000 award for his book Print Culture and the Blackwood Tradition . The prize honours Robert Colby, one of the foremost historians of 19th-century literary periodicals and magazines. It is given annually to the book judged to have been the best in its field that year. "I am pleased that a book about Scotland's cultural heritage has been so highly praised," Professor Finkelstein said.
