The Centre for Broadcasting and Journalism has been opened at Nottingham Trent University. The centre houses what is thought to be the UK's largest student newsroom, and its facilities, which emphasise the increasing importance of digital media, will ensure that graduates receive training in all aspects of the industry. Robin Staniforth, director of the centre, said there were concerns that graduates securing jobs in the media were not able to work across different platforms. "The facilities available at the centre ... will mean that our students will graduate with the whole skill set," he said. The centre was opened by Sir Michael Parkinson on 24 April.
