NI projects win £50m

Northern Ireland's two universities have won £50 million research funding for seven groundbreaking projects through the public-private Support Programme for University Research. Queen's University, Belfast, won £35 million for research into cancer, chemical catalysis, climate change and developing the future generation of microcomputers; Ulster University won £16 million, including £9 million for a research centre in art, technologies and design, and a transitional justice institute.
