A series of dinners bringing together figures from the worlds of sport, media and the public and private sectors will explore what it means to operate ethically in the 21st century. Newman University College, Birmingham held the first event on 17 November, featuring former Olympic athlete David Moorcroft. Peter Lutzeier, its principal and chief executive, said the banking crisis had drawn ethics into sharper focus. "As a higher education institution built on strong Catholic principles, we felt it was important to take the lead and bring people together to share best practice," he said.
