New King's building 'the biggest in London'

三月 24, 2000

King's College London's new Pounds 50 million Franklin-Wilkins building will house 4,500 students, almost as many as the University of St Andrews, according to principal Arthur Lucas, who claims that it is the biggest university building in London.

It is named after King's academics involved in the discovery of the structure of DNA. Maurice Wilkins still teaches at King's but Rosalind Franklin died before the Nobel prize for the discovery was awarded to Wilkins along with James Watson and Francis Crick in 1962.
