Word has it that Laura Tyson, dean of the London Business School, is tipped to become dean of the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. Professor Tyson, who was a national economic adviser to Bill Clinton when he was US president, was the first woman to head a US business school - she was dean of the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley, from 1996 to 2002 before joining the LBS.
Meanwhile, Sir Martin Sorrell, who as deputy chairman of the governors of the LBS approves Professor Tyson's £315,000 pay package, has just clinched a deal that could leave him £44 million better off should his company be taken over. Sir Martin is chief executive of the WPP Group.
