The latest issue of the University of Warwick's newsletter, CommUnicate , contains an appeal for an alternative to traditional university social life "organised by female members who, from their age and clothing, seem to be married to professors who had retired many years previously and now lived in under-heated houses".
Good news: the very same issue contains tidings of a "big bash" next week to celebrate the Queen's jubilee. All staff are invited and there will be a "lively range of games and activities". Highlights of the event will include "cult comedy from TV personality and Warwick graduate Timmy Mallett".
