An important private theatre and film collection will be made available to the public thanks to a donation. During his lifetime, author, critic and broadcaster Sheridan Morley amassed a library of books, personal letters, cards and memorabilia from showbusiness royalty - enough to fill 90 crates. Among his friends he counted Laurence Olivier, Marlene Dietrich and Noel Coward. His widow, Ruth Leon, has donated the archive to Kingston University's Learning Resources Centre, where students, academics and members of the public will be able to access more than 4,000 books on theatre, film and performance.
