Imperial's online decline

Imperial College London's web service for the personal use of its staff, students and alumni has gone belly up. Those who signed up for the all-singing, all-dancing groundbreaking web portal IC4Life - launched in May 2000 and sponsored by Ericsson to the tune of £18 million - are being told to look elsewhere. Imperial College helpfully suggests that users of the now defunct service set up free web-based email accounts with Hotmail or Yahoo and that they change their internet service providers to those offering a more competitive service.
