Imperial College London - Women ambassadors appointed

三月 20, 2008

Female members of staff at a research-intensive university are being offered support from three new "faculty ambassadors". Imperial College London's Academic Opportunities Committee, which aims to provide a level playing field for female academics, established the ambassadors scheme in October after receiving an Athena SWAN silver award, in recognition of Imperial's commitment to recruit, retain and advance women academics. Maria Petrou, from the department of electrical and electronic engineering, Lesley Cohen, from the department of physics, and Maria Belvisi, from the National Heart and Lung Institute, are the first to take on these new roles. They will be in place for three years and have been selected by their faculties.
