Imperial College London - Network for fun and fairness

二月 5, 2009

Eliminating discrimination and promoting equal opportunities at work are the central aims of a relaunched networking group at Imperial College London. Imperial 600 was set up in 2006 but has been renamed to raise awareness of its activities and recruit more members. The name reflects the estimation that lesbian, gay and bisexual people make up about 10 per cent of the UK population, which would equal 600 of Imperial's 6,000 staff. One of the first steps the group will take is to set up a mentoring programme. Christine Yates, Imperial's equality and diversity consultant, said: "The group identifies where policies need strengthening or communications improving, as well as having fun through social networking opportunities."
