Hull/York - Fresh site for infection control

九月 23, 2010

A new £5 million facility will serve as the home of an important medical centre in Yorkshire. The Centre for Immunology and Infection is a joint venture by the University of York's department of biology and the Hull York Medical School, and aims to contribute to research into chronic conditions such as Crohn's disease, diabetes and HIV/Aids by creating a "seamless link" between biology and medicine. The Higher Education Funding Council for England contributed £3 million towards the cost of the building, which includes a substantial number of laboratories, improved facilities for handling high-risk pathogens and a specialist clinical suite for volunteer studies and clinical trials.
