Graeme Taylor , senior lecturer in geophysics from the University of Plymouth has been awarded a Royal Society Grant of £7,350, to carry out palaeomagnetic research in northern Patagonia, South America. The work will be undertaken with colleagues in the palaeomagnetic group at the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Dr T. Pincus , Psychology: £4,635 from the National Organisation for Healthy Backs to develop and test a new tool for people with musculoskeletal pain:the Depression, Anxiety and Positive wellbeing scale (DAPS).
