Genes and health study

Manchester University is to host the £45 million UK Biobank project, which will use 500,000 DNA samples to analyse how genes and lifestyle affect health. Volunteers aged 45 to 69 will donate blood samples and give information on their lifestyle and diet from 2004. The project will keep track of their health records to understand the interactions of genes and lifestyle on disease.
