Expansion of learning

A key word was omitted in the story "Dons warn over expansion" (THES, September 10). and distorted our message. We argue against a further expansion of initial HE, not of HE generally. The issue is whether further prolongation of the first phase of learning is the best way forward. We think not, but support more opportunities later on.
