Cranfield University - Water work

A new project aims to ensure that everyone can get water on tap at all times, at the correct pressure and no matter what may happen along the way. Combining mathematics and risk analysis, the two-year project, funded by The Leverhulme Trust, aims to look at what can be done to make sure that water networks can withstand failure. Paul Jeffrey and Alireza Yazdani, from Cranfield University's School of Applied Sciences, are using computer-based analytical tools to look at the relationships between water distribution network layout and the ability of the network to continue to deliver a service when components are damaged or fail.
