Cranfield University - Planes, trains and automobiles

A multi-million-pound centre to lead research into vehicle-condition monitoring for aircraft, ships, high-speed trains and high-performance cars has been opened at Cranfield University. The Integrated Vehicle Health Management (IVHM) Centre, which is part-funded by the East of England Development Agency, is intended to become the epicentre of this developing field of research. Companies including BAE Systems, Rolls-Royce and Thales UK have each committed £1 million over five years to IVHM research at the university.
