Cranfield University - Nanoparticles draw fine-art fans

Lecturers in fine art at the Norwich School of Art and Design have teamed up with scientists at Cranfield University to investigate how nanotechnology can be used to change the way that artists draw. Catherine Wake, senior lecturer in fine art, is researching the properties of nanoparticles with Jeremy Ramsden, chair of nanotechnology in Cranfield's School of Applied Sciences, in the hope of revolutionising contemporary art practice. It is thought that the project could result in the development of new art materials that respond to an artist's voice, temperature and mood as well as touch.
