Cranfield University has relaunched its masters degree in translational medicine in an attempt to speed the journey from "bench to bedside" - that is, the often very long period it takes before medicinal discoveries are converted into clinical treatments available to patients. "It is hoped that (the MSc) will address some of the bottlenecks that are currently being experienced as more and more people move into the research field yet fewer drugs are being made," said Carla Toro, a lecturer in biomedicine.
