The genes and developmental biology committee announces a call for proposals under the Comparative Development (CODE) initiative. Applications are encouraged in areas that: stimulate new research programmes in comparative developmental biology in animal, plant and microbial systems; generate information about the molecular basis for diversity of form and how such diversity is generated through evolutionary time; promote collaborative transdisciplinary work between researchers in developmental biology, evolutionary biology, taxonomy, population genetics, bioinformatics and genomics.
This initiative is open to UK universities and colleges, BBSRC-approved academic analogues, and BBSRC-sponsored institutes. Application forms are downloadable: www.bbsrc.ac.uk/science/initiatives/code.html .
