Broers speaks too soon

Poor Sir Alec Broers, vice-chancellor of the University of Cambridge. After promising to "address the university's shortcomings" following last week's report that criticised the botched introduction of a new accounting system, the system crashed again on the next working day. Staff were unable to use it until three o'clock that afternoon.
