八月 21, 2008

A consortium of five UK universities has successfully bid to host the 2012 International Convention on Science, Education and Medicine in Sport. The convention is held before each Olympics. The consortium, led by Brunel University, has been asked "to inspire a learning legacy" through sport that will make the spirit of London 2012 endure long after the Games end. Between 5,000 and 10,000 sports educators, specialist researchers and sports practitioners, including Olympic physiotherapists and trainers, are expected to attend the convention in Glasgow during the build-up to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The other universities in the consortium are Ulster, Strathclyde, Liverpool John Moores and the University of Wales Institute, Cardiff.
