The BBSRC wishes to promote proteomics-based studies that increase understanding of cell function in the normal state, or that underpin the development of new drugs, vaccines and diagnostics and the development of new approaches to dealing with infection. The Proteomics and Cell Function Initiative carries an overall budget of £24 million.
