Alumnus to be proud of this week is No 157 in the series, gambling equipment millionaire and founder of G-Tech, Guy Snowden. The High Court in London preferred Richard Branson's version of negotiations to run the UK National Lottery to Snowden's. Branson did not attend university, preferring to make money by publishing a magazine for students, but Syracuse University in New York has a claim on Snowden. He read forestry there for a year before leaving to become a computer operator with IBM.
