ROYAL HOLLOWAY, LONDON Honorary fellowships: Kate Adie, chief news correspondent for the BBC; Peter Brown, head of the department of history at the college (1975-78), former fellow of All Souls and reader at the University of Oxford; Brian Flowers, nuclear physicist, former rector of Imperial College and vice chancellor of the University of London.

ROYAL ACADEMY OF ENGINEERING T. Durrani, professor in the signal processing division at the University of Strathclyde.

GOLDSMITHS COLLEGE, LONDON The following honorary fellowships will be conferred in September, 1996: Joan Ruddock, MP for Lewisham Deptford and Labour party spokesman on environmental protection; John Illsley, founder member of the rock group Dire Straits; William McCall, chairman of the working party which recommended admission of Goldsmiths as a school of the University of London and member of the college's council.
