No need for tablets

八月 27, 2004

So psychologists have discovered evidence of ancient post-traumatic stress ("Tablets record stress of 2094BC", August 20).

I'm sure 4,000 years ago is early, but don't the Psalms have some better descrip-tions?

"I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint: my heart is like wax; it is melted in the midst of my bowels. My strength is dried up like a potsherd; and my tongue cleaveth to my jaws" (Psalm 22).

Sounds like the way most of us will be feeling by the end of the next semester.
