'Isms' are still fighting fit 3

It is ironic that your US blogger should claim that Marxism is dead, and that it had very little basis as an economic theory, at the very time that capitalist economists and commentators are widely recognising and quoting from Marx's writings about the current crisis of capitalism.

As for Marxism being dead, tell that to the hundreds of millions voting for Marxist and avowedly Socialist (not social democratic) parties globally in recent years. In academia, as it happens, the journal I edit, the Journal for Critical Education Policy Studies, a Marxist/Socialist/Radical Left online, peer-refereed, academic journal with nearly a third of a million hits in five years - with some articles viewed by more than 5,000 readers - is arguably the widest-read education policy/sociology journal in the English-speaking world. Hardly the death throes of Marxism. And it's free at the point of access - a good Marxist/Socialist principle.
