Don't sex up gender pay gap 2

五月 18, 2007

The survey of the so-called "gender pay gap" is either dishonest or incompetent, as it fails to control for any of the relevant confounding variables.

Carefully controlled studies typically show that men and women are, on average, paid the same wage for the same work, especially in competitive institutions. Indeed, anything other than equal pay for equal productivity is economically unsustainable unless discrimination is enforced by regulations or laws.

A university that paid men more than women and promoted inferior men over superior women would rapidly be academically outperformed and economically undercut by its unprejudiced rivals.
