Yusuf Maitama Sule University, Kano was founded as North West University in 2012 as a second state university in the state of Kano. The university took its current name in 2017 in honour of Yusuf Maitama Sule, the former politician, representative at the United Nations, holder of several cabinet posts and 1979 presidential candidate. Students are divided between the city campus in Kano and the main campus on General Buhari Way in the Kofar Ruwa district. The first four faculties at the university included education, humanities, social and management science and science and have subsequently been joined by basic medical education and clinical science. The training hospital launched in 2017 and admitted its first medical students in 2020. In 2022 it launched a collaboration with the Republic of Niger and the first cervical cancer screening laboratory in northern Nigeria. There are diploma and masters programmes in accounting and finance. Facilities include the university library, campus accommodation, the student union, support and counselling services, a health and wellness centre, ICT suites, sports centre and transport services. The Yusuf Maitama Sule University also provides its students with access to online resources, including e-books and journals, to support their research activities.

The Division offers five undergraduate majors as well as graduate programs. The Faculty of Medicine at the University of Helsinki invites applications for the position of part-time (35 %) PROFESSOR for a fixed term of five years. The field of the position is Clinical Data Science with Finnish as the language of instruction. The professorship in Clinical Data Science is connected to the position of Techonology Manager at HUS Helsinki University Hospital. DutiesThe Professor is responsible for undergraduate, postgraduate, and continuing education in Clinical Data Science. In addition, the Professor participates in practical small group and lecture-based teaching in their area of expertise, as appropriate, across all educational programs in the Faculty. The position includes carrying out and supervising scientific research, following developments in research in the relevant field and participating in societal interaction as well as national and international cooperation in the field. Research Fellow in Nanoelectronic Device Fabrication

We are looking to appoint a postdoctoral researcher with experience and expertise in nanoelectronic device fabrication, to be based in the School of Electronics and Computer Science at the University of Southampton as part of the group of Dr Ruomeng Huang (R.Huang@soton.ac.uk). This postdoctoral fellowship is part of the EXPRESS (Exploiting Single Source Precursors for the Electrochemical Growth of Functional 1D and 2D Metal Dichalcogenide Semiconductors) Programme Grant recently announced by the UK Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC). EXPRESS is a large (£10M) flagship, interdisciplinary research programme over 5-years. It is led jointly by the Universities of Southampton and Warwick, alongside several international and industrial partners, and brings together internationally leading teams from across chemistry, physics and electronic engineering. It aims to deliver a step-change in the understanding and control of electrochemical growth of high-quality mono/few-layer functional transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs), combining precursor design and synthesis, electrochemistry, solution and surface computation, advanced characterisation and device integration. In addition to the essential disciplinary research skills, candidates should demonstrate a genuine enthusiasm for collaborative working, the ability to communicate effectively across disciplines, and well-developed organisational skills. In this role, your primary focus will be the fabrication and optimisation of TMDC-based nanoelectronic devices, including transistors and memristive devices, using electrodeposited TMDC materials developed within the EXPRESS programme. You will design and implement fabrication process flows within a cleanroom environment, including thin film deposition, lithography, mask design and etching, and carry out device and materials characterisation using techniques such as SEM/EDX, XRD, Raman, XPS and electrical (I–V) measurements. The role will involve integration of novel materials into device architectures and development of reliable fabrication protocols. You will work in close collaboration with colleagues across the EXPRESS consortium, including materials synthesis, electrochemistry and theory teams. You will be required to be flexible and interact effectively with colleagues across the wider EXPRESS consortium to fulfil the scientific goals of the Programme. The position is offered for 24 months in the first instance, with the possibility of extension for up to 3 further years. We’re looking for an enthusiastic postdoctoral fellow to be part of our team to advance our Rapid Pulsed Laser Deposition (RPLD) technology and ultimately develop a new class of active mirror to underpin the next generation of thin-disk lasers. Description NYUAD Experimental High Energy Physics group is searching for a post-doctoral associate to join the planned group's efforts to be involved in the ATLAS experiment as part of the UAE-ATLAS cluster, composed of three UAE institutions. Candidates must demonstrate experience in experimental high energy physics. The group will be contributing to the Physics Modeling (MC software, MC validation and Pileup modeling), the MET High-Level Trigger validation, optimization and performance studies, and to the heterogeneous computing where the focus will be to work on to the current efforts on accelerator developments towards the HL-LHC. Expertise in trigger development, performance and optimization and/or the ATLAS computing model is preferred. The selected candidate will work in the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider. The appointment will be for two years, with the possibility for renewal, subject to mutual agreement. The successful candidate is expected to take a leading role in the development of the group tasks and help in supervising PhD students.
