Founded in 1890, Washington State University (WSU) is a public research, land-grant institution comprises of four campuses. Its ethos is rooted in accessibility and public service. 

Its main Pullman campus is situation within 600 acres of land in the agricultural Palouse region that spans the northwestern states of Washington and Idaho.

Other campuses include the Health Sciences campus in the city of Spokane, another in Tri-Cities, and the fourth in Vancouver, on the banks of the Columbia River.

WSU – nickname “Wazzu” – is made up of 11 colleges with degree programmes that span more than 200 academic fields. Attracting a total of nearly 30,000 students, it offers 95 majors, 86 minors and more than 100 in-major specialisations to its undergraduates.

For postgraduates, WSU offers 76 masters and 64 doctoral programmes. It also has a developed online academic presence and offers 9 undergraduate and 12 graduate degree programmes via its ‘global campus’.

Internationally, WSU offers around 1,500 study abroad programmes in 82 countries worldwide.

Its library system contains over 28 million items including 2.3 million print volumes, 625,000 e-books, 95,000 online journals and 50,000 individual media items. Its Pullman libraries, including Holland and Terrell libraries, Owen Science and Engineering library, and the Animal Health library, attract roughly 1.3 million visitors a year.

WSU is proud of its work with the wider community – its 39 extension offices provide educational opportunities for Washington residents throughout the state and its four research centres help local growers sustain their crops.

The university also has an energy programme that provides information on energy efficiency for organisations and consumers alike, and it runs 24 small business development centres for start-ups.

In 2015 the Campus Pride Index ranked WSU within the top 36 universities nationally for its policies in support of LGBT students.

The Department offers the Bachelor of Communication (Honours) in Public Relations and Advertising with two concentrations: Public Relations and Advertising and Branding.  Senior Lecturer / Lecturer in Public Relations and/or Advertising (25260694) The Department invites applicants for a full-time position at the rank of Senior Lecturer or Lecturer in Public Relations and/or Advertising. In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop and teach a range of skills-based courses in public relations and advertising, covering topics such as principles and practices of public relations and advertising, public relations writing, digital content creation, corporate affairs, media relations, financial public relations, influencer marketing, and event management. Preference will be given to applicants who have recent industry experience in public relations and advertising, as well as demonstrated expertise in integrating ESG reporting, AI tools, and real-time data management into the curriculum. Your responsibilities will involve engaging with professionals in the public relations and advertising sectors. This includes collaborating with industry practitioners, establishing industry partnerships, and incorporating real-world perspectives into teaching practices. The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of two or three years commencing August 2026. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to performance review and mutual agreement. We are recruiting an enthusiastic clinician with a passion for medical education to a Clinical Lecturer position who will make a significant contribution to the teaching and development of the medical degree program. This role is critical to Year 6 course material development for the new Bachelor of Medical Studies/Doctor of Medicine (BMD) which was launched in 2022. You will work closely with the Course Development Leads for Years 4/5/6 of the Doctor of Medicine to enable the delivery of a high-quality curriculum. In this role, you will join a dynamic curriculum development team and will be well supported in this role. You will possess clinical experience relevant to the development and delivery of Year 6 of the degree program, which will allow you to integrate concepts from across the curriculum. You will also need to demonstrate good interpersonal skills, as an essential activity will be to liaise with clinical academics and titleholders of the College of Health, based at various locations (CALHN, NALHN and WCHN). Core responsibilities: Working with others to refine and implement learning activities and outcomes for the Doctor of Medicine program, particularly year 6 Liaising with Domain Leads and other Curriculum Leads to ensure learning outcomes and other activities are consistent with Domain maps and objectives, adhere to the Australian Medical Council (AMC) Graduate Outcomes, BMD Program Outcomes, and the University Graduate Outcomes Assisting with the preparation of documentation for AMC accreditation requirements Working with staff of the School of Medicine to prepare materials for presentation to students and liaising with staff of other areas in AU who are involved with this project Reviewing and developing the Equity Placement within the 5th year of the BMD. Lead components of organisation and delivery of the Scholarly Placement in 6th year of the BMD. Experience: Demonstrated experience and understanding of the complexities of teaching within the clinical workplace. Good writing skills, including the ability collate work from a number of contributors Appropriate clinical experience to allow for the translation of diverse content into teaching activities and an awareness of clinical guidelines to ensure best practice Good interpersonal skills including a track record of being able to bring different groups of people together to achieve common goals. Strong organisational skills and an ability to work to tight deadlines. Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team.
