With a rich history that dates back to 1940, Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University is one of the oldest institutions of higher education in western Ukraine. 

It was originally established as Stanislav Teacher Training Institute and became Stanislav Pedagogical Institute in 1950. In 1971 it was renamed after a famous Ukrainian writer, Vasyl Stefanyk, and in 2004 the institute was granted full university status. 

The university is located in Ivano-Frankivsk, formerly Stanyslaviv and Stanislav, a city in western Ukraine. 

There are 11 faculties within the university: faculty of economics, faculty of foreign languages, faculty of pedagogy, faculty of psychology, faculty of tourism, faculty of philology, faculty of physics and technology, faculty of history, politics and international relations, faculty of natural sciences, and the faculty of physical education and sports. 

Each faculty is divided into different departments, which offer a wide range of both undergraduate and graduate degree programmes.

There are also four institutes: Institute of Graduate Studies and Pre-University Education, Educational-Scientific Institute of Art, Kolomyya Educational-Scientific Institute, and the Educational-Scientific Institute of Law. 

The international relations office is responsible for establishing partnerships with various higher education institutes across the globe in order to facilitate academic and scientific exchanges. These institutes include the Ganja State University in Azerbaijan, the University of Valencia in Spain, and the University of Warsaw in Poland.

Job Description: The Chemical & Biochemical Sciences Department is seeking applicants for Assistant professor position in computational research in interface chemical reactions to join our research team focused on studying reaction mechanisms and materials. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in modeling and simulation of atomic and molecular structures, along with extensive experience in analyzing the electronic and structural properties of materials. The position requires extensive knowledge in performing quantum mechanical calculations (e.g., first principles density functional theory (DFT)) to elucidate complex reaction mechanisms occurring at the surface of various materials. Key Responsibilities: Perform quantum mechanical calculations (DFT) for establishing reaction mechanisms and kinetics Develop and apply advanced computational models to predict the chemical and physical behaviours of materials Collaborate with experimental teams to interpret results and guide future experiments. Publish research findings in high-impact scientific journals and present at international conferences Mentor and train students and junior researchers Required Qualifications Ph.D. in Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science, or a closely related field. Job Summary MAScIR-UM6P is seeking an enthusiastic and highly skilled Postdoctoral Researcher to join our research team. The successful candidate will be involved in cutting-edge research focusing on soil biology, microbial ecology, and molecular biology techniques. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to advancing our understanding of microbial communities in soil ecosystems and their roles in nutrient cycling, soil health, and environmental sustainability. Job Responsibilities Conduct independent and collaborative research projects focused on the effect seaweeds bioproducts on soil biology, soil carbon, microbial diversity, and functional genomics. Apply molecular biology techniques (e.g., DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, qPCR, metagenomics, transcriptomics) to study microbial communities in soil environments. Develop and optimize laboratory protocols for characterization, and functional analysis of soil biology. Utilize high-throughput sequencing technologies to analyze soil microbiomes and interpret the data using bioinformatics tools. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams of researchers, including soil scientists, biochemists, and ecologists. Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present results at national and international conferences. Mentor graduate students and contribute to the lab's overall research strategy.
