This position is responsible for undertaken high-quality research projects in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander social and emotional wellbeing, mental health, and the social determinants of health. Experience To join our community and thrive in this role, you will likely have the following skills and experience: Qualifications: PhD qualification in a relevant discipline with relevant post PhD experience. Essential: Demonstrated understanding of the South Australian Aboriginal communities and Health and Social sectors, and experience establishing and maintaining relationships for collaborative activities relevant to Aboriginal community engagement and research. Demonstrated capacity to manage research projects. Highly developed research, analytical, information literacy and report writing skills for conference papers and educational publications. Demonstrated ability to locate, analyse, compile, and edit relevant literature and research data to produce research reports, conference papers, and manuscripts for refereed journals. Demonstrated relevant experience of writing up research findings for a variety of audiences including policy and academic communities, and active engagement in collaborative research practices both within and external to the University. Demonstrated skills in qualitative and quantitative - mixed method research, both in archival and ethnographic research methods. Knowledge and experience in the use of qualitative methods including interviews and focus groups. Proven ability to communicate effectively with Aboriginal Peoples and people from diverse backgrounds including strong cross cultural communication skills with demonstrated ability and experience in active engagement in community outreach activities. Demonstrated organisational and time management skills together with resourcefulness and initiative to manage multiple priorities and demands. High level of interpersonal skills and proven ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment. Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to equity and social justice within a tertiary educational context. Desirable: Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent, bringing lived experience and cultural knowledge that enhance the research.
