Uttaradit Rajabhat University was originally established in 1936 as the Uttaradit Teacher Training School. In 1968 it began offering higher education degrees and was renamed Uttaradit Teachers College. In 1992, the college became the Rajabhat Institute of Uttaradit and in 2004 it was granted university status by King Bhumidbol Adulyadej under its current name.
As its name suggests, the university is located in Uttaradit, a city and province in northern Thailand.
The university is organised into six faculties: agriculture, education, industrial technology, humanities and social sciences, management science, and science and technology.Each faculty offers a range of undergraduate degree programmes.
There is also the graduate school for students looking to further their studies. The school offers specialised courses at both master’s and doctoral level.
Research is carried out in a variety of subject areas throughout the year. The university publishes its researching findings in its Academic Journal, which is published twice a year in both the Thai and English languages.
