Established in 1990, UW Bothell is a four year institute based in King County, based in the west of the state and now named for civil rights leader Martin Luther King. Shared with the UW Bothell campus is Cascadia, a community college.

Academic study at UW Bothell is divided between Business, Educational Studies, Interdisciplinary Arts & Sciences, Nursing & Health Studies, and STEM subjects. All schools offer master’s programmes, and in 1998 UW Bothell became the first university to offer a Technology MBA in the Puget Sound region.

UW Bothell is a part of the Generation Study Abroad programme, and is dedicated to having 15% of students take courses overseas by 2020. Previous undergraduate students have studied at locations ranging from Spain to South Africa, and UW Bothell offers scholarships to cover the cost of airfare. The Master’s of Education course also has a long standing programme exercising for students to use their skills in rural Guatemala.

The university is also the architect of a restoration North Creek Wetlands restoration project, focusing on a 58 acre area near campus sites and one of the largest projects of its kind in the Pacific Northwest. Environmental enhancement is the key driving principle of the endeavour, and has led to extensive regeneration of the floodplain and an educational resource for kindergarten students and professional training of wetland mitigation regulators alike.

The Digital Future Lab is an interactive media production studio on campus, dedicated to maximising the input of a diverse student body in its design projects.

The university motto translates from Latin as ‘let there be light’.

Job Purpose As a University of Applied Learning, SIT works closely with industry in our research pursuits. Our research staff have the opportunity to be equipped with applied research skill sets that are relevant to industry demands while working on research projects in SIT.  The primary responsibility of this role is to deliver on industry innovation research where you will support all aspects of the project to investigate neuroplasticity and recovery of movement quality after stroke using multimodal functional brain imaging and 3D human kinematics. This funded research brings together multidisciplinary expertise from Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT), National University of Singapore (NUS), National University Hospital (NUH), University of Glasgow (UOG), Queen Elizabeth University Hospital (QEUH), Glasgow Royal Infirmary (GRI) and Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in the areas of Neuroscience, Psychology, Movement Science and Rehabilitation. Key Responsibilities Participate in and manage the research project with Principal Investigator (PI) and the research team members to ensure all project deliverables are met. Prepare data collection forms/interview questions/questionnaire and recruit and/or interview subjects. Maintain accurate records of interviews, safeguarding the confidentiality of subjects, as necessary. Perform computational modelling and analysis of the neuroimaging and behavioural data, with guidance from senior colleagues as required. Provide ready access to all experimental data for the faculty researcher and/or supervisor. Prepare materials for submission to granting agencies, foundations and Ethics Committee review. Prepare progress reports for the PI and funding agency. Prepare other articles, reports, and presentations. Coordinate and attend project meetings, monitor the project budget and work on other projects and initiatives, as required. Conduct literature reviews for publications and research briefings. Contribute to the dissemination of research findings (e.g., journal, conference, book). Support and collaborate with research assistants, graduate and undergraduate students, where applicable. Work in a team, contribute to the identification of possible funding sources and/or the planning and development of externally funded research proposals in an area relevant to the project. Perform other research-related tasks as required by the Principal Investigator. Job Requirements A good degree in relevant discipline (e.g. experimental psychology, biopsychology, cognitive psychology, neuropsychology, neurology, psychiatry, cognitive neuroscience, electrical engineering, biomedical engineering, computer science, physics or related fields). A PhD* (or equivalent research experience) in a relevant subject (only for Research Fellow position). Candidates with a non-healthcare degree are welcome to apply. Familiarity with image data analysis tools such as SPM, FSL, AFNI, and/or DSIStudio etc will be an advantage. Signal processing and programming skills (e.g. with Matlab, Python) will be an advantage. Ability to use statistical packages such as SPSS, R for statistical analyses and visualisation will be an advantage. Some research and/or clinical experience/interest in the area of stroke rehabilitation or care will be an advantage. Key Competencies Good scientific writing skills with relevant publications will be an advantage. Strong ability to work within a multidisciplinary team. Experience of supporting research projects and bringing them to successful completion. Possesses sound judgment and superior decision-making and problem-solving skills. Organisation Chart The research staff will report to Assistant Professor Choo Pei Ling. Major Challenges Some parts of the work (e.g. data collection, analysis) may be held at external sites (e.g. NUS, NTU) which may require swab testing prior to entry. Responsibilities Reporting to the President, the Vice-President for Teaching and Learning (VPTL) will provide strategic leadership in advancing future-ready teaching and learning initiatives at the University.  The VPTL will oversee the development and implementation of the UG common core curriculum, fundamental courses, and Redbird MPhil Program, ensuring quality in teaching and learning activities while enhancing students' educational experiences. As a key member of the Senior Management Team, the VPTL will collaborate with the President, other Vice Presidents, Deans, Academic Registrar, and relevant units to establish and implement protocols and policies that ensure the effective delivery of teaching and learning. In alignment with the "Unified HKUST, Complementary Campuses" framework, the VPTL will coordinate teaching and learning activities and academic support with the Clearwater Bay campus.  The VPTL is responsible for the following areas, including but not limited to: Lead the development and execution of the University’s strategies for teaching and learning, fostering a culture of excellence. Provide leadership and management to the College of Education Sciences (CES), College of Future Technology (CFT) and Institute of Education Innovation and Practice (IEIP) in shaping innovative learning and teaching approaches, including strategically leading the Red Bird MPhil Program, promoting and implementing our signature inquiry-based cross-disciplinary active learning model; as well as overseeing curriculum development and quality enhancement, and ensuring relevance to global perspectives and industry needs. Role Overview As a University of Applied Learning, SIT works closely with industry in our research pursuits. Our research staff will have the opportunity to be equipped with applied research skill sets that are relevant to industry demands while working on research projects in SIT. The SIT Centre for Intelligent Robotics is a strategic capability centre under RoboPrecinct@Punggol Digital District (PDD), responsible for developing and maintaining the core applied robotics and embodied AI capabilities required for precinct-level deployment of robotic systems. The centre is seeking a Robotics Engineer. This role is application-driven and system-oriented, focusing on the implementation, adaptation, and evaluation of state-of-the-art robotics algorithms on real robotic platforms. The successful candidate will work closely with physical robots and simulation environments to translate recent advances in learning-based robotics into robust, deployable systems. Key Responsibilities Implement, adapt, and evaluate state-of-the-art learning-based methods for robotic perception, decision-making, navigation, and manipulation. Apply reinforcement learning, imitation learning, and other skill learning frameworks to practical robotic applications. Integrate learning-based robot skills with full robot software stacks in ROS / ROS 2 environments. Develop and maintain perception and state representation pipelines using RGB-D and 3D sensing. Conduct simulation-to-real (Sim2Real) workflows, including data collection, model training, deployment, and testing on physical robots. Support system-level experimentation, benchmarking, and iterative improvement of embodied AI applications. Provide mentorship to undergraduate students in projects. Carry out risk assessment, and ensure compliance with Work, Safety and Health Regulations. Prepare technical documentation, reports, and implementation guides to support knowledge transfer and long-term maintainability. Contribute to publications and technical notes to disseminate research outcomes. The employee is to communicate with any internal or external stakeholders to ensure project deliverables are met. Any other adhoc duties assigned by supervisor. Requirements Bachelor’s degree or higher in Robotics, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Control Engineering, or a related field. Hands-on experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow. Working knowledge of reinforcement learning, imitation learning, or learning-based control concepts. Familiarity with robotics simulation tools such as Gazebo, Isaac Lab, or MuJoCo. Practical experience with ROS or ROS 2 for real-robot software integration. Proficiency in Python and C++, with experience developing and maintaining production-level code. At least 2 years of experience in robotics research or industry projects. Preferred Skillsets (Advantageous) Experience working with mobile manipulators, humanoid robots, or quadruped robots. Exposure to motion planning, control frameworks, or whole-body control systems. Experience with real-world robot experimentation and deployment. Experience with embodied AI and robot manipulation benchmarking platforms such as LIBERO, ManiSkill, or RLBench is highly desirable. Knowledge of GPU architectures, GPU cloud computing services, and strong familiarity with Linux operating systems. Knowledge of BIM, universal scene description and scene composition Knowledge of physics and simulation parameters, as well as sensor simulation pipeline.
